Kelowna United U11 Warriors Player Selected

Kelowna United U11 Warriors would like to congratulate their friend and teammate Christopher Vandenheuvel on being selected to the BC summer games, Thompson-Okanagan, U12 boys soccer team.  Christopher is the only Kelowna United U11 boy to be selected to the squad.

Here is a quote from the Kelowna United Warriors coach Cam West –

“Chris has emerged as the strongest U-11 player in the Thompson Okanagan Region.
Being chosen to the U-12 team is quite an honor.  This really is no surprise, Chris works very hard in practice and in every game. An example of Chris’s dedication to his team and team mates was during a practice after a particular drill competition. The player that was last or who lost the competition would have to do an extra set of exercises. To my surprise Chris took it upon himself to do the extra set of exercises with that player and every time after that. At this level & being only 10 years old this is completely unheard of.  Chris has found a very comfortable spot playing on the back line. He has strong defensive skills with strong offensive qualities that always prove to be a threat on a quick counter attack. What a great future this young man has in the game!”
