After 12 years of dedicated leadership looking after the Kelowna United coaching program and technical department Dante Zanatta has decided to take a well-earned sabbatical to focus on the UBCO Heat, BC Soccer and Travel. In the Interim Tom Flanagan, a National B Licence coach will assume the role of "Interm Technical Director" until the end of the current playing season. Tom holds a Canadian youth licence and has been working with Kelowna United and Dante as an assistant technical director for the past 14 years. Moving forward Tom will be available as the technical and programming contact for all of the current coaches, KU staff and club members. The KU board is confident that Tom will provide excellent leadership as we continue to finalize our merger with OMYSA and TOFC. This merger will combine all ages and levels of play from under 5's to adults, encompassing recreational play, the select program and BCHPL.
Otto Lohn, the Kelowna United Chair said “whilst we are sad to see Dante take a sabbatical we support him and we are delighted that such an experienced and qualified coach as Tom has agreed to fill the role on an interim basis”.
