Who we are:
In 2004, Kelowna United grew out of the Central Okanagan Youth Soccer Association to become the select wing under the guidance of newly hired technical director Andrew Latham. In our first year, 10 of 11 teams qualified for the provincial “A” cup, winning one gold and three silver medals. Under the leadership of President Allan Myers in 2008, Kelowna United struck out on its own and became an official club, with Andrew Latham providing technical direction.
Kelowna United continues to be part of COYSA District which, as of October, 2022, includes all youth soccer teams bounded by the 50th parallel to the north, 49th parallel to the south, Highway 1 to the east and Upper Arrow Lake to the west (Kelowna, West Kelowna, Rutland, Lake Country, Penticton).
What we stand for:
Kelowna United has always strived to give young soccer players a place to develop and grow. We have put great emphasis on coaching education and player development. The results are evident as our players have earned University scholarships, our teams have won Provincial Championships, and we send more players to the EA Sport Premier League than any other BC Interior club.
Where we are going:
In 2022, Kelowna United signed up with the Peterborough United FC's new International Pathway Programme which exposes our players and staff to best practices and training opportunities. Having their coaches visit us in Canada will only enhance our program and the development of our players and staff.
In late 2023, Kelowna United merged with Thompson Okanagan Football Club (TOFC) and Okanagan Mission Youth Soccer Association (OMYSA) enabling players to play under 1 club introductory youth programming to BCSPL level soccer as they developed their technical skills and love of the sport.
