The U10-U12 program will be played within the
COYSA league in addition to the U13 Boys House Team which will play within the U14 COYSA House program. The COYSA league does include Penticton, but otherwise competition will be locally based with games against other clubs with competitive level teams.
The training season for the team players will run September - June, a break through July and August, and resume September to mid/end of October.
- Teams will hold twice weekly training sessions; Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday based both on the coaches availability and historical bookings.
- The younger ages will mostly be based out of the Mission area fields and Mission Dome for their practices and other programs.
- Teams will receive a 30 minute session every other week from a qualified movement specialist. During these sessions, players will focus on soccer specific movements and training to help them improve their athleticism and agility.
- The U10-U12 Developmental Teams are also invited to join our Skill Academy players every other Saturday for a 1-hour game session (scrimmage). This invitation is based on the schedule and timeline of the Skill Academy program only and not offered for the duration of the Development Team training schedule.
The U13 program is played within the TOYSL league which includes competitive teams throughout the Okanagan Valley. This year, due to the large number of skilled players that turned up to Evaluations, the Technical Director opted to create two teams who will train side by side through out the season. Come April when the competitive season begins, the Development Team will play within TOYSL program, while the House team will compete locally (furthest game would be Penticton), in the COYSA league.
With this opportunity, we will be developing the best players in the age group in preparation for their U14 year when they transition to 11-a side soccer to play in the TOYSL league.
Both teams (Development & House) will receive:
